NWFW has kicked off once more this week, and to get you in the loop of the latest fashion news, we thought we’d give you the downlow on the things to look out for this season. So grab your super cool sunglasses and practise your best catwalk, as we hit you with the hottest news!
Tom Ford Opening Show
This season beloved designer Tom Ford has the privilege of kick-starting fashion’s hottest party. Joined by world renowned models including Gigi Hadid, Mr.Ford’s AW19 is one of the hottest tickets in town, seeing the American fashion icon deliver soft tailoring with this signature sophisticated sense of femininity.
No Shows
A couple of major brands have played the “I can’t come out, I’m sick, cough” cord this season, deciding not to show at NYFW. Calvin Klein is one of these brands. Following the departure of their former creative director, Ref Simmons, the brand has chose to sit thus showing out. In other news Spice Girl turned designer Victoria Beckham has opted to show at London Fashion Week rather than New York following the success of her anniversary show last season.
Comeback Queens
We all love a comeback story, and this NYFW is not short of them! AW 19 sees that return of Helmut Lang to the New York catwork after a break. After last showing back in 2017. AW19 should be an interesting experience to see that the brand has been working on since their departure.
